Two years

-

Two years it takes to build a ship.

They start from nothing.

A little piece of metal is welded to another, and the ship is born.

For two years, every now and then I'll be visiting this shipyard in Trieste to document the process. A book and a short film will come out of it.

This ship will sail in the Anctartic, the southernmost region of the world. That's one story already. The main story.

Another story, written between the lines, is in the people who are building it.

Workers in these few pictures come from all over the world. Faces I've seen before, in other Countries.

Troubled Countries most of the times.

It's good to see them here for a change. At work instead of war. Building something new, on a quiet winter morning.
